In the heart of a seemingly tranquil community, an insidious divide-and-conquer strategy breathes life into a chilling culture of ostracization. Members are often unaware that they themselves play a pivotal role in this dark symphony, where even minor infractions—real or imagined—lead to swift shunning and alienation. This dynamic operates under the guise of purging the unworthy, all while cloaked in the illusion of maintaining order. Here, relationships, even those within families, fracture under the weight of emotional blackmail, leaving behind two distinct classes: the “haves” and the “have-nots.”
To belong to the “haves” means aligning with the elder’s philosophy, a path that allows one to sidestep the arduous task of genuinely seeking truth or nurturing a personal relationship with divine entities. It is a facade of community built on conformity, where “perfection” is not just an ideal but a tyrannical standard. This notion echoes a failed ideology reminiscent of Lennon’s Russia—a utopian dream turned dystopian reality.
Within this environment lies the phenomenon of group psychosis, a shared delusion that infects even the most stable minds, subjugating them to the whims of a singular vision. The Elders, also known as the Presbytery, exert a grip so tight that any challenge to their directives is met with immediate disdain. They wield authority that’s not merely administrative but spiritual, casting their words as edicts from God himself. It transforms the congregation into a monolithic entity—the biblical “us”—from which all dissenters are labeled as antichrists, enemies of the cross.
When individuals break free from this oppressive mold for countless personal reasons, their stories remain veiled in shrouds of deceit. Instead of honest discussions about their departures, the remaining members are fed a carefully curated narrative: those who leave are backsliders, slipping into ungodliness. This relentless propaganda is part of a broader, sinister strategy to maintain control, foster paranoia, and eradicate any relational ties deemed disloyal.
As the collective anxiety heightens, so does the community’s determination to eliminate any perceived threats to their fabricated utopia. Their true motivations become glaringly evident: business profits take precedence over genuine spiritual fulfillment. The congregation transforms into a cheap, disposable labor force, unwitting participants in what can only be described as a socialist model masquerading as a church.
This Neo-Catholic construct thrives under the cloak of decency, yet it systematically devours the very souls it claims to nurture. The elders feast on the aspirations of their followers, enacting a perverse form of agape love that seeks to consume rather than uplift. The idyllic backdrop of Samford Valley contrasts starkly with the oppressive reality of this community, revealing a mini-Marxist state where the promise of belonging operates as a guise for control.
In wrapping its members in a web of fear and obligation, this community perpetuates a cycle of dependency. Individuality is sacrificed at the altar of conformity, and in the name of collective virtue, the quest for genuine connection is stifled. This compelling narrative offers a sobering reflection on the complexities of human relationships within a context dominated by fear and manipulation. In the end, the facade of perfection crumbles, exposing the underlying truth: that true community cannot thrive on the foundation of exclusion and control but must embrace the chaos of authenticity and mutual respect.

It is important to note that this divide-and-conquer strategy (of ostrisiazation) is employed on members themselves. Those members, even seemingly out of order in anyway (without facts or supporting evidence), are outcasts and shunned in this community. It is the principal, ruling dynamic (justified as a purging) to maintain order and control. In all relationships, especially families. It creates 2 classes, the haves and the have nots, an inner and outer circle, the inner, having all the power and que dos, and the outer reduced through the weaponization of the word to a mere resource. The emotional blackmail this creates puts pressures on everyone to be in the haves (who are loyal to the elder and the philosophy; in this way you don’t need to have a relationship with the Father and his Son nor do you have to in a noble way seek out the truth of what is being proclaimed). There is never equality, just conformity to the ideal, and a failed ideology called ‘Perfection’, which is an absolute illusion (Its actually the philosophy of Lennon’s Russia). Much more could be said here on the many negative group dynamics that operate in this environment and specifically on the concept of group or shared psychosis, a transmitted illness to whomever follows one man’s delusions (even though those who follow him were in no way previously mentally ill). No one will challenge a directive from ‘them’ The Elders also called the Presbytery (which is a term misunderstood and deliberately misused) or a word delivered by them (as if from God) because the group has given all its power to them. The group as a whole becomes the biblical “us,” from which all antichrists emanate (or leave). You are labeled as ungodly or an enemy of the cross once you leave (many leave, of course, for a whole range of reasons), and the obvious contradiction of the elders directive is confounded by those who are actually thrown out of the church by them. The narrative is the same, however, and how these ones came to leave is never disclosed to the congregation; they are simply told a lie about those who have left, and it is assumed that they have returned to the world and are clearly backslidden, living ungodly lives. This Ivory Tower mentality is part of the collective sickness of this community. As Paranoia grows, pressure is ramped up in the community to intensify its efforts to eradicate relational connections perceived to be disloyal. At this point, the real motivation for the community’s existence is revealed. Which has everything to do with business profits at the expense of a cheap disposable labor force, which is of course the congregation. A true socialist model of church, masquerading as a legitimate place of worship. An authentic sect/cult, a mini-Marxist state operating in the beautiful and peaceful Samford Valley. A Neo-Catholic construct, offering humanistic, self-help theories operating by a self-appointed authority (riddled by nepotism and cronyism,) whose cloak of apparent decency is a cloak of covertness), who by lust devour sheep for validation at their imagined and heretic agape dinner.
