Ostracization being taught to Sunday School Children

Samson Rising has been informed that the Presbytery of the CFO is preparing Sunday School children to ostracise their parents, if their parents don’t obey the Presbytery.

Sunday School children are being taught that the Presbytery hear God’s word directly, and that all members of the Church must obey the Presbytery if they want to be saved.

We will reserve our opinion as to whether this theology has any credibility.

However, we feel these teachings undermine the importance of family in favour of obedience to Presbytery.

We are concerned this type of teaching may form part of inappropriate control mechanisms referred to elsewhere in this website.

We feel these teachings may also amount to abuse and therefore may be either illegal or against the public interest. 

Samson Rinsing is calling for an investigation by:

• The ACNC (Australian Charities & Not for Profit Commission), as to whether the CFO is teaching the practice of ostracisation to children, and whether this is a breach of Australian Laws and ACNC Governance Standards.

• The Office of Fair Trading to determine if the teaching of ostracization to children is occurring at the CFO, and whether those teachings are in the public interest.

If these authorities conclude that laws have been breached, Samson Rising will be making submissions, requesting that Committee Members (Responsible People) are disqualified from holding office and that the CFO be wound up, with its assets being made available to other law-abiding churches.
